New Editor Evening Dates for 2011

Two favorite editors are coming back to Jennifer DeChiara's Meet the Editor Evenings.

Thursday, Jan. 20: Alvina Ling of Little, Brown and Company
Alvina is at Little, Brown Books for Young Children. She acquires books for all ages, with a particular interest in literary fiction for the Middle Grade and Young Adult audience. She is also looking for beautiful and/or unique picture books as well as trade nonfiction books.

Thursday, Feb. 3: Catherine Onder, Disney-Hyperion Books for Children
Catherine Onder develops picture books, chapter books, middle grade fiction and YA novels. Recently, she was the editor for The White Darkness by Geraldine McCaughrean, winner of the 2008 Printz Award. Whether funny and light or dark and mysterious, traditional or edgy, she looks for strong narrative and voice, and a clear vision in all manuscripts. Authors and artists she has worked with include Matthew S. Armstrong, Karen Barbour, Ann Cannon, Alex Flinn, Katherine Langrish, Geraldine McCaughrean, Laura Ruby, Allan Stratton, Terry Trueman, and Jenny Valentine.

The evenings take place from 6-8 pm at Jennifer’s office in Manhattan, 31 East 32nd Street, Suite 300. The cost is $125 includes a ten page critique from up to two manuscripts. Submissions are due one month before the event by email. For more information, or to register, send an email to Stacy.
